    The Role

    As Field Service Engineer, you will responsible for the installation, service and repairs of all equipment and to ensure all works are in line with company and statutory standards in relation to quality and health and safety.

    Responsibilities

    • Liaise with Customers and Clients in a professional manner.
    • Installation of product on site to a high and consistent standard.
    • Planned preventative maintenance of equipment.
    • Reactive breakdown attendance in line with company SLA’s.
    • Manual lifting and working at height are significant parts of the role.
    • Complete quality inspections and report non-conformances.
    • Ensure all documentation associated with the project is completed.

    Requirements

    • 3+ experience in a similar role.
    • Strong electrical background with mechanical/ Hydraulic experience
    • A full clean Irish drivers’ licence.
    • Excellent time management.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

    Traineeship Overview:
    As a Trainee Service Engineer, you will be part of our dynamic team of experts, learning and developing the skills required to excel in the field of automated door and loading bay equipment. This comprehensive traineeship program will provide you with hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and practical skills needed to become a proficient engineer in the automated door industry.

    During the two year traineeship you will develop the skills and competencies to undertaking these key responsibilities:

    • Assist senior engineers in the installation, routine maintenance, fault finding and repair of automated door systems.
    • Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, identifying appropriate solutions with a sound understanding of drive systems, electricity, switching technology, machinery safety and risk assessment.
    • Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
    • Collaborate with team members and customers to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to optimize system performance.
    • Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies in automated door and loading bay equipment.

    Location:
    With head office in Tuam, you will attend work at 8:00am each morning and travel to client sites with other Doormotion Service Engineers, predominantly across the Connaught region.

    Person Requirements:

    • Leaving Certificate with minimum O5 in Math’s, English and ideally have completed at least one of the following subjects: Physics, Construction Studies, Technology, Engineering, DCG or Applied Maths.
    •  Strong interest in automation, engineering, electrical and / or mechanical systems.
    • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and wiring.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    •  Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills (fluent English is essential).
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

    Advantages of Traineeship:
    This is a structured, two year programme with blended training. You will complete multiple training programmes with a mix of online, in-person and on-the-job training.

    • Certifications will be completed through a number of training providers in both Ireland and the UK.
    • Accredited training adheres to industry codes of practice and some courses are accredited by City & Guilds (Certificate and Diploma level).
    • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the automated door and loading bay industry.
    • Experience working on-site in a range of leading industrial, commercial and manufacturing environments.

    The core skills and knowledge learned can be easily transferred to other applications and careers where mechanical, electrical, drive controls and safety systems are used. Trainees will be assessed at six monthly intervals to monitor their progress in developing and demonstrating the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of Service Engineers. Trainees will receive guidance and mentoring from experience professionals and be supported with regular feedback.

      • After 2 years & fully competent to independently complete Junior Service Engineer responsibilities, you can expect to earn from €15.00 to €20.00 per hour
